November 07, 2007 :: Wednesday
Hmmmm. So pretty much...I'm never going to graduate.
This is my schedule for next semester:

CS 2200 - Systems and Networks
MATH 3012 - Applied Cominatorics
CS 4400 - Intro to Database Systems
LCC 3401 - Technical Writing
MATH 3770 - Statistics and Applications
Also, I will be working at INPO on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7am to 5pm, and maybe on Fridays from 7am to 12pm. It's quite ugly.
I'm really excited to get back to class though.
I'm sleepy. Why am I not sleeping right now.

Two things.
January 31, 2008 :: Thursday
1. I hate it when my peers try to bump their final grades (in a course) from an 89 to a 90. Even from an 89.4 to a 90. Just accept the fact that you don't know the 90% of the required material that it takes to get an A. This is one of the most blatant violations of the academic honor code. I hope you know you're lying to everyone.
2. I can't remember the other thing at this point; I'm running on four hours of sleep. It doesn't matter though. I bought all five seasons of Sailor Moon + the three movies, and I'm going to get work done so I can watch them.

AHH.
February 05, 2008 :: Tuesday
Where did my life go? School and work have consumed it.
In other news, I got an A on my databases test for which I didn't study. :) Good job, everyone, keep it up.

You try giving away 20 hours of your life every week.
February 08, 2008 :: Friday
Listen. Going to school and working at the same time is hard.
And I think I'm getting my wisdom teeth in.
But despite all the stress and tears and nervous breakdowns, I'm still trying to find things to look forward to. Granted, this IS a difficult thing to do because all of my seconds have to be consumed doing school work. But I might have time to, I don't know, decorate my room since all I have next week is two tests and a project due. And a homework. And a lot of reading. But that's it though, and it's an awful small amount compared to what I usually have to deal with.
Anyway, I got David the best Valentine's Day present ever, but I can't tell you what it is because sometimes he reads this.
Ok. Time for a fun-filled day of: CS2200 studying, IOS research, laundry, and probably more CS2200 studying.
Studying is relaxing to me. :)

It's almost over
April 26, 2008 :: Saturday
Two finals. Monday and Thursday. 8am - 11am. CS 2200 and Combo. Respectively. My financial future rests on these exams. (But when does it not?)
I've done a poor job of keeping up with this thing this semester. That sucks.
I'm going to continue my study marathon now.
Moving home on Friday!!!

Yep, it's finals week
April 28, 2008 :: Monday
People walking around campus in their pj's. Free pizza constantly being shoved down your throat. Midnight Breakfast. Finals Food. My face breaking out.
Yes, it's finals week! Woooo. Hooray for unhealthy food, small amounts of sleep, and large demands on your self-discipline.
I just owned by CS 2200 (Systems and Networks) final. One more to go!
Also, in case you're wondering why I only have two finals, when you start getting into the higher level CS classes, they're all project classes - meaning that you don't have a final.
Kthxbai.

Tech Comm Web Portfolio Assignment
April 30, 2008 :: Wednesday
Please ignore the fact that it reminds you of Lamp Post. I don't have time to go around making websites for two-credit classes.

I'm a fourth year with alphabet magnets
August 15, 2008 :: Friday
BREAK. I've been so busy this whole week what with wrapping things up at work (Monday - Wednesday), move-in + Boot Up training (Thursday), Boot Up and unpacking (today).
Boot Up is the College of Computing's freshmen orientation. It's a fun little day designed to help the freshmen get to know each other. It's really a great program, and I think today was a big success. I don't really have time to talk about it though because David and I are about to go out for dinner with our friends.
But first, this is a little surprise that David left me on my new fridge:

David goes by the name of DAP to all our friends. :)
Happy Friday!!

Cool. I'm the only girl in my Design of Operating Systems class. That is all.

August 23, 2008 :: Saturday
Well hello. Here I sit with a cup of oreos and milk, and I'm ready to tell you about my first week of school.
It was pretty good, all things considered, and I'm so ready for this new semester. ESPECIALLY since I won't be part-timing fourteen hours a week like I did in the spring. We don't do that again.
I dropped a couple classes and added some as well, and here is what my class schedule looks like:

- PSYC 2210 - Social Psychology
- CS 3251 - Networking I
- CS 3210 - Design of Operating Systems
- CS 3451 - Computer Graphics
- ISYE 3770 - Probability and Statistics
So that's that. So far, my favorite class is Networking and my least favorite is Computer Graphics. Enough with the group activities already!!
I need to go set my laptop up for Design of OS. I need to make sure I register my copy of Vista, and also I need to install Office 2007 on both my laptop and desktop.

Yeah, hi.
August 27, 2008 :: Wednesday
I'm mad because my Social Psychology professor thought it would be a fun game to randomly call on people to answer questions (that may or may not have actual answers) during lecture. Granted, he didn't call on me, but I got so worried that he might that I completely MISSED what he was saying for the rest of the lecture. Can we say, social anxiety? Kthx.

Computer Graphics: Project 2
September 09, 2008 :: Tuesday
The bulk of my stress as of late has been caused by my Computer Graphics class, CS 3451. In particular, this project:
Feel free to take a look and play around with it. It involves triangles and vectors and dot products. Ten points to anyone who can figure out how to make it do something CRAZY, where crazy = bad and unpredictable. Just don't tell my grading TA. Kthx.
Also, could the guy next door please turn his music down? At least the bass?

I don't think it was supposed to be like this.
September 28, 2008 :: Sunday
Guys. I am so tired of studying. I can't even begin to explain it to you. I have been studying, projecting, or homeworking since Thursday, September 18th. I have no clue where my instant ability to focus for long periods of time came from, but it has been enabling me to get through what has to be the most demanding two weeks in my academic life. I have been working almost every moment that I wasn't sleeping, eating, or showering. Sometimes I would even study in the shower.
And yet I will still not get A's on all of my tests, projects, quizzes, and homeworks. Why? Because this is Georgia Tech where your OS professor doesn't understand that you WON'T BE ABLE TO STUDY PROPERLY for his test that he is making you take early. And even when you ask him if you can take it when you get back from Grace Hopper, he says no.
At this point, I can't imagine what I will do when I get my free time back. I don't know how to do anything except study.
Work that I have finished:
graphics quiz
AOE quiz
prob/stats homework
prob/stats test
Work that I have to do before Tuesday night when I leave for Colorado:
OS test
networking project
graphics project
networking homework
Work that I have to do within one week of getting back from Grace Hopper:
psychology test
networking test
OS homework
prob/stats homework
I may have forgotten something. Anywho. I will continue my running on eight-hours straight of studying for my OS test which is tomorrow at 1pm. Farewell.

Done. SO DONE!
October 09, 2008 :: Thursday
Guys. Guys. I am so done with everything. This is how happy I am right now:
(Don't ask what my hair is doing.)
Actually that was taken the day before my Design of OS test approximately a week and a half ago, but the point is that I'm so happy right now. A billion weights have been lifted off my shoulders.
I can do ANYTHING. Fall Break starts tomorrow at 11am.
LOVE.

Lucky and thankful
October 15, 2008 :: Wednesday
Remember how on Friday I was trying so hard to deny my sickly fate and make it to Psychology in case the professor decided to give us free bonus points?
He gave them to us today. :)
*lucky and thankful*

Whiteout 2008
November 20, 2008 :: Thursday
You might not know that Georgia Tech's colors are actually white and gold (as opposed to navy and/or yellow).
You also might not know that tonight we had our (second annual?) Whiteout, this year for our football game against Miami. This means that everyone wears white clothing to the game. I would also like to add that this game was aired on ESPN.
David snuck into one of her pictures earlier).
I'm really not sure if it's called "whiteout" or "white out," but I do know that my free white t-shirt says "white out" on it. Take that as you will.
Anyway. We won, 41 to 23. :) Fun times. Good game, ya'll. "To hell with Georgia."

The next GTalk?
November 23, 2008 :: Sunday
Oh, group projects. How I loathe thee.
Spent the day working on a group project for Graphics.
Before that I was working on my Networking project. All of yesterday I was working on my Networking project. All of tomorrow and all of Tuesday I will be working on my Networking project.
At least I'm enjoying my Networking project though. I'm writing an internet chat program. Watch out, GTalk!
Two projects left until Thanksgiving break!

Sometimes you can brag
November 24, 2008 :: Monday
I am owning my psychology class. I was three points away from getting an A on the first test, and I only missed two questions on the second one. I need a 62% on the final to get an A in the class.
Normally psychology classes at Tech are easy. But the professor I have is RIDICULOUS. He's old school if I've ever seen it. Everyone hates it.
I'm so good at doing things people think I can't do.

It's Dead Week

It's Dead Week. There will be no postings (besides this one, most likely) until after my five finals.
See you at 2:20pm on Friday, December 12.

Aaaaand break!
December 12, 2008 :: Friday
I'm finished! This semester is over. WHAT a week. Five finals. Four of them between yesterday and today. It was a challenge, and I'm really proud of myself for keeping my test anxiety (mostly) under control. I pretty much owned all five of my finals. :)
This is the part where I have to pack up my room since I'm moving out in the morning. It's back to work on January 5th (I think), and it's cheaper for me to live at home. So that's that. I realized that I don't want to move out though. I had an awesome semester with my roommates. It's the first semester I've actually become friends with my roommates. As opposed to acquaintances, not enemies.
This is also the part where everyone wants to see everyone and hang out and celebrate the end of finals week and do stuff and say their goodbyes before everyone leaves for their respective homes for three weeks. It will be a busy night!
Congratulations to everyone who is graduating this semester, in particular, a Miss Sweta! I'm so proud of you. :) We had an amazing three and a half years together!
